Determining Visibility

Determining Visibility

AG2 Ferguson: "When at sea and no contacts are available, you can also utilize thunderstorms. Thunderstorms have a very distinct line that will be picked up by the radar. If you see the thunderstorm on the radar and you know the storm is 6 nautical miles away, and you go outside and you can clearly see that thunderstorm, you know that visibility is greater than 6 nautical miles."
